AviClear Laser is an innovative laser treatment developed for acne, approved by the US FDA (United States Food and Drug Administration). It can treat acne of all severity levels and prevent the recurrence of inflammatory acne in the same treated areas without needing prescription oral or topical medications. Delivering safe energy waves directly to the sebaceous glands inhibits their activity. These glands secrete a substance medically known as ‘sebum,’ which can clog pores and lead to acne inflammation when combined with dead skin cells or bacteria. AviClear Laser works by inhibiting new acne formation at its source while treating inflammatory acne on the skin’s surface. It also improves skin quality and strengthens the skin’s structure. The stronger the skin’s structure and quality, the less likely new inflammatory acne will occur in the future, and the shorter the duration of acne inflammation and skin recovery will be.

Treating inflammatory acne with AviClear Laser is similar to other laser acne treatments; multiple sessions or a course of treatment are typically necessary for patients with acne concerns. The number of sessions will vary for each individual depending on the severity of their acne. However, for patients with the most severe issues, 3 AviClear Laser treatments, spaced approximately 3-4 weeks apart, are common. For first-time AviClear acne treatment patients, a consultation with a physician to develop a treatment plan is necessary. Gathering initial background information is essential and a part of the treatment process that helps ensure the results align with the patient’s expectations. This includes the patient’s personal information, history of previous acne treatments, current medications and supplements, and any underlying medical conditions.
During the treatment, the facial skin must be moisturized at all times. For patients with very dry or oily skin, the ‘skin moisturizing preparation’ step may take 3–5 minutes longer than usual.
